me, gently patting my baby-soft cheek: skincare culture is neither good nor bad, but merely a manifestation of the appearance-obsessed culture we live in that i consider a step up from makeup culture, which focuses on literally obscuring and redrawing your features to fit an increasingly narrow and often racist set of standards; an upside to paying close attention to skincare is that it often rewards people with the confidence to wear less and less makeup and accept their features as they are; also none of this matters because we’re all gonna die
man responding to something a woman said: actually this is true. I mean, fair enough, this is surprisingly accurate. I would have phrased it like this, but you can still extract some value from this statement as it is actually fair enough if you like and see it that way maybe
the phrase daddy issues makes me so mad like no this isnt some ‘issue’ we have its a system of neglect and emotional incompetence thats excused and encouraged in men and then somehow reflects badly on young girls for being lost and im so mad
The man fails as a father and we laugh at the neglected girl
or even worse we sexualize it because in this hellish society whenever ppl find victims of something terrible instead of thinking to help and support them all we do is either blame them or see it as something to exploit for your own sick desires
