why “aesthetic” is a wonderful term

• appreciation for clothing/music styles without supporting an otherwise unpleasant culture (1950’s US, 1940’s Europe, Middle Ages)
• saying something is pretty without sexualizing it
• an affinity you don’t have to explain with words
• blogs full of pretty pictures of waves and glitter and crap
